“There is something for every age, even the kid at heart,” says designer Jody Hallonquist of LeGran Homes, which built this five-bedroom, eight-bathroom stunner. “It’s the kind of home to make sure the kids stay home and never leave,” adds firm president Gene Posthumus. “Or, if they leave, they want to come back quite often because of all the features.”
Some of those exceptional features include a full-size gymnasium that can host full-court basketball games or floor hockey, a golf simulator, an outdoor pool with a 45-foot slide and high dive, and a large theater room complete with a candy counter.
There are built-ins and walk-in closets galore, including a custom alder desk and bookcase in the study and a coffee or wine bar in the owner’s bedroom. Unique ceilings, such as the alder-beamed, suspended ceiling in the office and the faux-finished, domed ceiling in the owner’s bath, display an intricate attention to detail.
The main floor owner’s bath is a work of art in itself. A unique water feature imbues the space with a gentle burbling that promotes instant relaxation, while a see-through fireplace warms both the bathroom and bedroom simultaneously. Honed travertine marble floors and walls complement enameled cabinetry. The steam shower, soaking tub, his-and-her vanities, and huge walk-in closet create even more luxury.
At the center of the home, the kitchen, great room, and dining room provide excellent space for both relaxing and entertaining. Large windows offer views of open space and flood the rooms with natural light, while the one-and-a-half-story fireplace with arched alder panels and custom oval plaster surround adds drama. A large deck off the kitchen provides a place to unwind and easy access to the swimming pool.

Children have plenty of space upstairs in three bedrooms, each with a walk-in closet and bathroom. One bedroom features a cozy window seat and a custom bath with a pebble shower floor and rimless glass shower doors. The children can also take advantage of an enormous bonus room above the garage as a game or play room. LeGran built this space so that it could be easily converted into a nanny’s or in-law’s quarters with the addition of a bathroom.
The lower level is designed to bring out the inner child in any visitor. An inviting family room is adjacent to the game room, designed perfectly for billiards, arcade games, and other amusements. Meanwhile, the in-home theater, golf simulator, and gym provide plenty of opportunity for recreation and relaxation. A beverage center off the gym and pool, a full bar, and a slate and stone wine room make it effortless to serve snacks or drinks in the casual environment. A half-bath with a rock vessel sink and a full locker room add to the convenience.
With such attention to detail in the lower level, including the movie reel carvings in the theater room door and a viewing bar, LeGran met its chief goal. “We wanted to build a dream house that anyone would love,” Hallonquist says. “We thought of a family that loves to entertain and spend time doing activities together.”
