Think Positive
Real estate is in dire straits. Gas prices are high and still rising. The nation is at war. And political sniping is ongoing in this, a presidential election year. Will the negative “breaking news” headlines ever end? Probably not—the news has a habit of leading with shock value. However, we as consumers bear at least some responsibility: We do tune in. Don’t get me wrong, the economy is suffering. But if you look at the cyclical pattern our economy has followed since the 1940s, we will come out of these tough times. I just wish I had a crystal ball that told us when…but don’t we all?
In the meantime, I choose to focus on the positive. And this year’s Eighth Annual Twin Cities Luxury Home Tour had plenty of positives, from the beautiful homes our builders showcased to our attendees’ many great comments. Even our overall attendance was up 9 percent. My hope is that this is the beginning of good news for our local housing market.
As you peruse through this commemorative issue, enjoy the 17 homes that were featured on the Luxury Home Tour. We have a home for every taste, from the English cottage family home by Pillar Homes, to the contemporary-style residence with Arts and Crafts flair by MS&I Building Co. and SKD Architects, and everything in between. Hold on to this issue—it sells out every year and we tend to run out of them in our office, too.
Enjoy, be positive, and cherish the rest of this Minnesota summer.
